Join us in Apopka on May 1st. Thousands of people across the country will rise up in resistance to demonstrate the power, resilience and strength of immigrant communities in America.
Donald Trump continues to pursue unprecedented attacks on immigrant and refugee families. Raids on immigrant families are escalating. Immigrants with legal status have been unlawfully detained. Keeping families together is an American value that must be defended.
May 1st will be a day of unity and solidarity. People of good will from all movements are joining and will be welcomed to help carry the torch. We will display the power and muscle of progressive ally organizations, churches, community based organizations, labor unions, environmental and LGBTQ organizations and other allies committed to scale back attacks on immigrant families.
For many who are joining, May 1st will be a no work, no school day of protest where we will flex our economic muscle and display the collective power and vital centrality of immigrants to the success of America’s economy. In 2014, immigrants earned $1.3 trillion and contributed $105 billion in state and local taxes and nearly $224 billion in federal taxes.
America works best when we all do our part and work together as one nation, indivisible and we will reject and fight against any policy or law that attempts to divide us. See you in Apopka!
