Mountain View, CA—A group of local residents will march on Monday, May 1st to call attention to the need for a just and humane immigration reform that recognizes the human dignity for all immigrants, keeping families together, supporting alternatives to deportation, and building a reasonable path to citizenship. Fear and uncertainty dominates the lives of our immigrant neighbors this year as they struggle to provide for their families.
The 2 mile march begins with a brief convening ceremony at 4 pm near the Rengstorff Park Community Center, Mountain View, and continues on Rengstorff Ave to El Camino Real to Castro St., arriving at Civic Center Plaza around 5:45pm for a 1-hour rally with speeches and music. Speakers include Judge LaDoris Cordell (Ret.) and both the Mayor and Police Chief of Mountain View.
